Healthy Teeth Tips!

Dental @ Central

02 Jun Healthy Teeth Tips!

Have you been trying to achieve the perfect smile? Keeping your teeth clean and healthy looks great, but is also super important for your health! Did you know, if you don’t take care of your teeth properly, bacteria can build up leading to decay, making it more likely for your teeth to turn yellow, chip, or even fall out! Not to mention the bad breath… But there are simple things you can do, other than just brushing your teeth, that will ensure that your smiles stays sparkling and fresh!

To celebrate Dental @ Central opening at Central South Morang recently, we’ve put together a few tips and tricks to keep your teeth pearly white so you can smile with confidence!

Brush, floss & rinse!

Seems pretty obvious, right? But it is amazing many people don’t do these three simple steps regularly. It is recommended that you should brush your teeth for a minimum of two minutes every morning and night, floss your teeth daily, and rinse your mouth out with water or mouthwash after brushing! These are the most important steps when it comes to keeping your teeth clean!

Replace your toothbrush!

How often do you change your toothbrush? As it turns out, you don’t have to replace them as often as you might think! It is recommended that you change your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months. However, if you have been sick, or if you store your toothbrush close to other people’s toothbrushes (such as in a cup on the bathroom sink) you should replace it more regularly.

Eat healthy foods!

If you’re really serious about the health of your teeth, you should make sure you’re staying away from too much sugar! Soft drinks, lollies, desserts and processed foods contain lots of sugar, which can be particularly bad for your gums and teeth! It’s best to stick to non-processed foods to keep not only your body healthy, but your teeth too! Dairy products, especially milk, can actually help to strengthen your teeth and keep away bacteria.

Regularly visit the dentist!

Book an appointment for you and the family at Dental @ Central for general check-ups, cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening and dental emergencies. Dental @ Central will be able to clean your teeth, check if you have any problems with your pearly whites, and give you personalised tips to keep your mouth healthy. Visit their page for more information on the range of services they offer.

Chew sugarless gum!

Evidence is out there that chewing sugarless gum can help to prevent tooth decay! Chewing sugarless gum helps produce saliva, which clears out any food that is stuck in your teeth! If you’re planning on giving this a try, remember to make sure the gum you buy doesn’t have any sugar in it! Woolworths at Central South Morang stock a variety of sugar-free chewing gum.
